SONG REVIEW: Roxana Line - "That's The Way You're Giving Up"

Roxana Line showcases her talent in this emo rock musical inspired track, "That's The Way You're Giving Up"

by Brandon Maynard

When I say the words emo, rock, musicals, and fairy tales what does that make you think of? A crazy fun night am I right? But actually that amazingness is thrown together to make up the music of artist “Roxana Line”. In 2020, Roxana Line released a single called “That's The Way You’re Giving Up” which honestly opened up a new door of music for me.

Within the first couple seconds of starting the song you're greeted with a theatrical sounding piano with little bell hits in the background that leads to a marching snare. Just from that intro I was excited to see where this song was going to go. I knew with this great build up this song was gonna be a great one. As the song goes on you're met with the vocals and let me tell you these vocals almost put you in a trance. Almost like a siren singing to you, I just couldn’t get enough. As we go on we’re met with the chorus and the hook of the chorus is definitely a change of pace and very catchy. The vocal melody in this chorus is spot on in my book and the instrumentals are big and add a perfect rock touch.  This chorus will be stuck in your head for a very long time.

Roxana Line is a L.A based artist quickly making a name for herself in the music scene. When Roxana was 13 years old she was writing and fully arranging songs. Since her early days writing Roxana has fronted 3 bands and went on with her solo career pumping out some great music! Roxana has won many competitions with her vocals and music.

To summarize Roxana Line's new song that’s the way you're giving up is honestly a song that you should instantly add to your playlists. This song is beyond catchy it’s completely different in the best way possible. Which I love that aspect and it’s such a fun song to listen to.
