Analog Drip get lit with shots and broken TVs in “Party Song”

Written by JD Walker

How many nights do you remember taking a few (or more than a few) shots and getting so belligerently drunk that you started breaking things? Probably not many, because at that point you were probably blacked out. Good thing we have Analog Drip to capture the moment for us: in their new single “Party Song”, the lyrical content reflects exactly what you’d imagine: taking shots, breaking things, and just generally giving zero fucks.

“Party Song” is about as straight forward of a pop-punk banger as you can get, and that’s what makes it so good - it wastes no time kicking right into the catchy, hook-laden chorus that’s sure to be met with a chorus of drunken millennials screaming the lyrics. “Party Song” follows a very simple structure, making it an instant keg anthem. The chorus is laid back but hits hard while the verses are a bit more uptempo and capture the energy that’s released during the choruses.

Analog Drip is a pop-punk duo out of Jacksonville, Florida, and in their bio they describe themselves as ‘having played together in bands since high school and having the liver damage to back up their party lifestyle that their lyrics portray’. Composed of Ryan Josey pulling double duty with guitar and vocals and Anthony Nolan on bass, the duo embody the care-free attitude they portray in their music and lyrics. The group is on a mission to unite the audience through good vibes, positivity, and getting absolutely wasted.

“Party Song” achieves exactly what it aims to - a simple, easy to follow banger of a song that would ignite any crowd it’s played for and encapsulate only the best of vibes. The video is nothing more than the two Florida lads smashing a TV on their front lawn with a golf club, and honestly is about the best and most fitting video for the song. “Party Song” gets creative with wacky lyrics such as “body painted Mona Lisa puts candy on my tongue”, “tequila makes me naked”, and “Karen called the cops” (of course she did). Overall, “Party Song” is everything that pop-punk should be: straight forward, groovy, melodic, and filled with great vibes.

Analog Drip truly captured the feeling of being at a raging kegger with “Party Song”, and it’s impossible to not crack a smile while hearing the lyrics or nodding along to the chorus. In a world that seems to get bent up in perpetual anger and outrage, “Party Song” is exactly what was needed. Analog Drip set out to reflect their personal partying endeavors in their music, and have done so effortlessly. Never change, Analog Drip, and let’s do shots sometime.
