SONG REVIEW: Ghost In Stereo - "False Idols"

“Denver’s newest metalcore act raising the bar with their second release”

One of Denver’s newest metalcore outfits Ghost In Stereo are back with a bang with the release of their new single “False Idols”. The band released their first single a couple days before the 2023 new year and got a really good response for being fresh out of the gate. With that being said, this new single had some pretty big shoes to fill following the success of the first, but as I started listening to the song I knew that this was going to top the first and also define their sound and some of the band’s identity. 

Being a new act on the scene’s radar has its perks, and one of them is being able to establish yourself while finding the right formula to progress. False Idols as a follow up certainly topped their debut. The hook is catchy, the song structure seems more put together, and the delivery was still brutal just like the last. The intro to this track is similar to the other and is very early metalcore influenced. As the main guitar riff kicks in and the song is on it’s way, it hit hard and was straight forward and easy to follow. Vocalist Page Dante shines bright delivering crushing vocals during this whole song. As you move into the chorus, the lead guitar that lays just under the music really brings up the melody and compliments the vocals. From front to back, the song sounds way more put together and mature. 

Being a local band and breaking out into the massive world that is music is hard and overwhelming. Ghost In Stereo is now on the path to getting better and better and as they keep raising the bar, more and more people are going to notice. I was pleasantly surprised on the leap from the first single to this one and i’m stoked to see where this band takes it next
