SONG REVIEW: Ali Slater - "Without You"

“If you ever wanted Christina Aguilera to be an emo queen, Ali Slater is the girl for you!”

by Jesse Smith

Being a fresh act is always scary for any musician, but Ali Slater has dropped to heaters back to back and this time we are taking a look at her seductive track “Without You”. Already picking up steam with her music, Ali Slater is a self proclaimed emo girl making emo songs about boys and that is the best self made bio I have ever heard because that is exactly what it is. Without You gives me creepy Christina Aguilera vibes which is so unique and fits her image so much.

The song is accompanied with a hybrid music video/lyric video that falls into the creepy emo vibe. The undoubtable highlight of this track is Ali’s flow with her lyrics that follow the waltzy vibe. This is the perfect burlesque song to dance too given that the song has that flow and it is very empowering. With lyrics like “Breathe in try to let go, I am my own Superhero” really gives that female strength that falls within her brand. Blending genres effortlessly, Ali Slater has just started her career and is already having her image, and her direction down and to be honest, I am HERE for it! Without You delivers a powerful catchy chorus and emotional verses that stay in the pocket and drives home. I am excited to see what she has in store for everyone next!
