Warped Tour Vibes Return: FVDE Premieres Catchy New Single "Untreated"

There is a new band coming out of the Pacific Northwest that is piecing together multiple eras of Metalcore into something new and exciting! Exploring the genre in their own way with a sound you can feel they’re passionate about while exploring the different avenues this genre has to offer. FVDE started earlier in 2024 and is now releasing their second single “Untreated”. While their first single “Illusions” had a more modern metalcore vibe, "Untreated" feels like a call back to when times were good and Warped Tour tickets were $30. So as soon as I heard it I knew I was hooked. 

The song has a healthy mix of singing and screaming and both are equally as good. This song leans more towards the melodic side rather than the heavy side, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t heaviness to the track. The quick breakdown in the middle of the song caught my attention and I loved it! This song also feels more personal and emotional lyrically than their first release. You really hear it in between the sing/scream vocal that is delivered with purpose. It’s small touches like this that really make the song pop but some of those touches also give me a blast from the past feeling! 

The nostalgic vibe of the song comes from how the guitars set the melody and how they’re layered! That mixed with the Lyric Video reminds me of when lyric videos were the go to YouTube content other than videos. I missed these lyric videos and this song is perfect for that style. I would have LOVED this song when I was 13 and I love it now, for a second release this is a great song. I can’t wait to see where they go next.
