SINGLE REVIEW: Promotive - "In My Head"
Written By: Jasmine C. Jones
Pop-Punk band hailing from Orange County, CA, Promotive. Over the years, Jacob Ortiz, Andrew Padilla and Mel Torres, have all separately made tremendous achievements in their respective musical careers. This includes sharing the stage with several critically- acclaimed acts (Counterparts, Slaves, Secrets and more), touring across the United States, as well as internationally, gaining sponsorship from companies such as Empire Ears and Soundbrenner, and performing on the Vans Warped Tour. The culmination of all of these achievements is the backbone of what has shaped Promotive, a pop-punk trio based out of Orange County, California. With years of professional and touring experience under their belts from previous projects, the band aims to recreate and excel past their previous success through a new medium of infectious melodies and power-pop anthems.
With their debut single “Tired” the band set out to provide a message of hope; to inspire others to see the bright side of any dark or otherwise hopeless situation. Their newest single “In My Head” is a love letter to the classic emo sound of the early 2000’s, combined with modern production and infectious melodies. It is a vibrant track detailing all of the emotions associated with developing feelings for someone who may or may not reciprocate those feelings.
