Illicit Thoughts is a Metalcore/Deathcore influenced band.

Originally founded by Eli Potter & Dallon Relph in Payson Utah, late October/November of 2016. Through many member changes and fine tuning our sound and learning what to do before going official as a band and being on social media platforms and such, we are in a place where progressing forward is the only mindset. It took some time before Illicit thoughts was formed to what it is now. We are so thankful for all the experiences leading up to now to show us what being a band really is about.

We began working on our Single ‘Screaming inside’ in august 2018. After practicing for 4 months, we decided it was time to track and feature a special guest on the song from a well known local band in Utah. We got in contact with David Blake from “Hollow, I Am” and he was excited to be featured on the track. We hit the studio on December 9th 2018 to start recording our first single “Screaming Inside”.

It’s now 2020 and our self titled EP is complete. With blood, sweat, and tears, we created a 6 song EP with: Into/ King Me, Insidious, Architects, Dead Thoughts, and Screaming Inside.

My coffin will be the first single to be released off our upcoming unreleased first full length album titled"My Coffin". The main theme behind the album which was thought out by our vocalist Dallon Illicit, was essentially to take all of the stress, anxiety, depression, trauma and throwing it into your coffin accepting the good and the bad and facing your darkest and best moments.

The titled single (my coffin) was lyrically written by Dallon Illicit Thoughts, and this was also let to the title of our upcoming album. At the time this song was starting to be written. Dallon had been going through a loss of a young friend who was only 13 who took his life. It hit Dallon very hard as he himself had been struggling. Which lead him to write this song and dedicate it to those who are currently struggling, and those who have left us too early.  The song holds many messages and one of Dallon’s big focus is telling a story.
