House Divided (stylized as H//D) is an American progressive Metalcore band formed in Norfolk, Virginia in 2017. Their upcoming debut EP, “Ash & Echoes” has taken shape over the course of a tumultuous early era that forged the distinctly cathartic messages found in this first collection of tracks. The EP is a series of melodic vignettes exploring mental health, existential and societal issues, over a sea of jaw dropping guitar and drum work that perfectly balances intensity and intricacy. After years of honing their craft, House Divided is ready to bring an entirely new sound to the Metalcore scene. Expect great things from one of the genre’s most intimidating dark horses. House Divided brought us Non-Prophet in 2018. 2020 they kicked off with Molokai.

Molokai is a song about becoming too smart for your own good. The lyrics explore the feelings of isolation and disenchantment that are inherent to the process of waking up to the bitter realities of the world today. How do we cope when the self-centered worldview of childhood falls apart? How do we carve out an identity and try to connect with each other when trauma is built into the act of growing up?
