SINGLE REVIEW: All Systems Go - "The Story So Far"

Written By: Jasmine C. Jones

All Systems Go is a pop punk band from Delran, NJ. The lineup consists of Matt Pezza (vocals/guitar), Devin Kollmar (vocals/guitar), Dean Mason (bass), and Joe Codispoti (drums). The band originally formed in July of 2016, starting out at open mics and progressing to playing in local venues around NJ when the members were home from college in summer and winter. 2019 marked the band's most productive year, as they were able to play 30 shows throughout the NJ/PA/NY tri-state area, stock up on different types of merch, and most importantly, finally release music for the first time. Their debut album Garden State Skies was tracked in the band members' homes and sent to a producer to be mixed. ASG's stronger follow-up EP "The Waiting Room", released 12/6/19, was produced by Jaime GoWell at Blue Light Digital Sound in Mt. Holly NJ and has helped the bands small listener base increase (5-6x at this point) in only a few months time.

“The Story So Far” is the opening track to the EP. It has been most well received by their fans, and they also have a lyric video that was made by their friend Ryan Hanratty of Frosted Green Productions. The song itself has all the feels of your typical crushing on someone pop punk song, and while the title follows the lyrics, it also pays tribute to the band The Story So Far, in part with our song's longer outro that TSSF does in a lot of their songs.

The lyrics are definitely a realistic look at how growing up is and finding yourself. We waste so much time on things when we should be out there living our lives. The song features an incredibly addicting hook, a catchy chorus and something that takes us back to Tony Hawk Pro Skater Days!
