SONG REVIEW: In Shallows - "Hollywood's Bleeding" (Post Malone Cover)

Lately it seems like a popular thing for metalcore bands to do covers of pop songs and to be honest I’m 100% here for it. As someone who grew up in the pop goes punk era I really appreciate bands putting their renditions on popular songs. It really shows you just how creative these bands can be and how they would have written the song if it was theirs. And that’s what the band In Shallows did with their cover of Hollywood Bleeding by Post Malone.
As soon as you pressed play on In Shallow’s cover of Post Malone’s song, “Hollywood’s Bleeding”, they had me with this beautiful ambient guitar. I really loved the tone these guitars had for the intro. It was honestly a great choice. After the guitars play for a second you’re met with the vocals and let me tell you as soon as the vocals come in you are completely hooked. As the song continues it’s starting to build up a bit and I knew this cover could go one of two ways after this build up and let me tell you it went the complete right way. When the breakdown hits it hits hard I never really knew I needed to hear a Posty song screamed but after hearing what In shallows did I need all of his songs redone like this. I feel like in shallows did a great job taking such an iconic song and making it their own. I highly suggest everyone to stop what they’re doing and give this cover song a listen.
In Shallows is described as an “American metalcore band from New Hampshire”. Created in 2019, the 4 piece band has already been making a great name for themselves within their music scene. They are currently have a full EP and two singles out that we highly suggest you go check out!
To summarize everything up In Shallows cover of Post Malone’s song, Hollywood Bleeding is a cover that everyone should listen to right now. Like I said above I never knew I needed to hear a post Malone song screamed but after that I need to hear all of his songs done this way. I highly suggest everyone to put this cover on their everyday playlist because I know I will!
