“If Architects lived in the USA”

Written by Jesse James Smith

Groovy Metalcore will never go out of style no matter how many bands do it similar. Good music is just good music and Kansas City’s When Forever Finds Me makes BANGERS! WFFM are no strangers to GKE but in mid December they released their new EP titled “Wildflowers” and today we’re talking about the title track of this EP! But even though we’re talking about this one track, this whole EP is 100% worth the time to listen.

The intro of this song builds hype right from the start, with the Architects style vocal opening, it is a powerful way to open a song while also closing out the EP. As the music kicks in, the groove of the song is infectious. It’s heavy and simple with enough flair to not just be a 1 & 0 chug pattern (iykyk). There is a European / Australian vibe to this song which is so sick! You don’t see American bands really capture this sound in the right way, but they absolutely nailed it! The chorus is more powerful than it is catchy, but you can really feel the emotion behind the delivery of each word. And it wouldn’t be a good metalcore song if the breakdown didn’t bang! The breakdown was reminiscent of “All Our Gods..” era of Architects and In Hearts Wake’s “Earthwalker” album mixed together.

This band has incredible potential to really catch the attention of all the metalcore lovers around the world. They are reviving a certain sound that everyone misses but the bands that made them have moved away from. I can see this band filling the gap of the need to hear new music like this! This song and the whole EP was a great listen and i’m so excited to see where this band goes from here. They started 2025 off with an instrumental version of the EP, so I think we can expect something new towards the end of the year, and I hope they polish this sound and really go in on it!
